"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead." Philippians 3:10-11
"And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again." 2 Corinthians 5:15
Hi there! My name is Esther, and it’s a blessing for me to be a part of Christian Tutors of America! Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in a Christian home and was homeschooled K-12th grade. Following high school graduation, I completed a semester of CLEP courses before pursuing a college degree through Liberty University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016. Since then, I have worked in different positions relevant to my degree, including as Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) to a special needs child and as a teacher in a daycare for medically fragile children. I also enjoyed volunteering at my local Children’s Hospital during and after college. Perhaps my biggest area of experience, however, has been in tutoring; I taught flute lessons to a middle/high school student for over two years, as well as to a grammar school student for two years. During the pandemic, I adapted my flute classes to live virtual lessons (via FaceTime), and I also taught English as a second language to students in China.
I enjoy tutoring because I value the personal interaction with students in helping them learn. As a homeschool graduate, I understand the value of one-on-one interaction, and I believe that personalized instruction can help students more firmly grasp the concepts that they are trying to learn. In the process, I believe the experience can also boost healthy interpersonal development. More specifically, however, I believe that Christian tutoring encourages not only academic and interpersonal development, but also fosters an environment in which to encourage spiritual and biblical awareness. As a Christian, I believe that everything we do should be with the ultimate goal of glorifying God with our lives, and that school is just one facet of life in which we can seek to honor the Lord. No matter how successful we are in a particular subject, true success comes when sincerely seek to do our best for the Lord. Knowing this concept gave me a sense of freedom when I was in school, and I desire to have this same mindset as I work with and help other students.
I grew up in a Christian home by loving and godly parents. I was raised with a constant awareness and belief in God, the Bible, and the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, it was not until about age 14 that I made a conscious decision to surrender my life to the Lord. Since that time, it has been a continual journey in my walk and relationship with Jesus, as I seek to draw closer to Him and follow His will for my life.
